The Excitement Grows and so am I.

Well, I have been a very bad blogger this summer. Summer is virtually over now. But, I was sitting at the computer today I felt that I should write down my increasing excitement at the upcoming arrival of our 3rd DAUGHTER!

In late June, we found out that Michaela Naomi-Faith will be our 3rd daughter and child to add much happiness, excitement (and dare I say drama?) to our lives. Olivia had been telling me since last November that she was ready for her sister "Michaela" to come. She nailed it. And we are really thrilled. I am most looking forward to seeing the relationship between all the girls. Olivia and Maia are really good and tender with one another and they are anxious to have another sister to the mix. They regularly pat and hug my belly telling Michaela they love her and are ready to be big sisters.

I am 32 wks along so only 8-9 wks left until we get to meet our newest addition and I really EXCITED. Sam is too, he is a pro at babies so he is ready to hold her all the time. Here I am 10 days ago. Michaela is due Thanksgiving time. I am secretly hoping to have her ON Thanksgiving day, like on midnight or early morning. Then my post labor apetite will have a large feast to satiate me. My family is coming in town for Thanksgiving and staying closeby. So,should I get my Thanksgiving wish, my mom will be here and in charge of dinner. The beauty of homebirth is that I can eat at my own dinner table (or couch or bed for that matter) if I do have Michaela that morning.

In other news, Sam graduated in April from BYU with a bachelor's degree in Facilities Management. It was a VERY proud day for all of us. It was particularly funny when Olivia took one look at Sam in his graduation gown and asked, " Daddy, why are you wearing a dress?"

He was handsome and very elated and relieved that day. A couple weeks after that he was hired at Northrup-Grumman in SLC, a nationwide global defense and aerospace company as the Assistant Facilities Engineer. He LOVES his job, the company and his coworkers. We have been extremely blessed. His happiness and contentment is rewarding to behold and it is contagious. It is hard to realize that we are no longer college students. That said, the vortex that is Provo has managed to hold onto us. But we are happy to be here and to have moved into a HOUSE. We are happily renting for the time being and enjoying the blessings of a 3rd bedroom, a fenced in backyard, covered parking and a constant and predictable income.

In other news, Maia has turned TWO! I still think of myself expecting her and now she is going to be the big sister. She is currently into babydolls, signing time, building her vocabulary and naming colors. She is still a tiny thing. She has only gained 11lbs since she was born weighing in at 7lbs 60z and she currently weighs 18lbs 60z. But we grow tiny wonders around here so it is of no concern.
Here she is with her caterpillar birthday cake that took me forever to make...like 2/3 the time it took me to bring her into the world.

This 7th year of marriage and family has started off with a bang and is moving along at that same pace and intensity. Our cup runneth over.
