Mulling Over Resolutions

The time has come. The time is now. New Year's is upon us. I love goals. I'm trying to decide what things will be most needful for me to improve upon for the upcoming year in my life. In order to set goals, I must know what my needs are. In fact, it'd likely be extremely useful to reevaluate this past year before I do that. I will start with jotting down what I have learned. This is not an exhaustive list by any means. Actually, I will flatter myself and say that it is just the initial lick from a rather substantial ice cream cone of Soy Delicious Vanilla Ice Cream since it is my very favorite.

Let's start with that.

1) I learned that I love and prefer Soy Delicious Vanilla Ice Cream over anything frozen dairy or nondairy treat.
2) I learned that miracles do happen. That the Lord will continue to provide them as long as you need them--you just have to believe.
3) I learned that I receive and find answers to my prayers, instruction and guidance from the Lord as I read my scriptures.
4) I learned that despite the fact that I am far too imperfect, I am a good mother.
5)I learned that doing things that are hard, that tasks can become easier because our capacities can become equal to it. IF we have faith in our capacity given to us by our Heavenly Father.
6)I learned that when we stop using knowledge and wisdom we have been blessed with is just plain stupid. REMEMBER is such an important word.
7)I've learned that life is so incredibly precious. To cherish the lives we have and the lives of those we love.
8) I've learned that you reap what you sow and sometimes you reap things you didn't sow. But to try and learn from it either way.
9) I've learned how easy, peaceful, fun and energizing being in labor can be.
10) I've learned that I still don't care to push during delivery though.
11) I've learned that being the mother of three children is all about learning to become a ringmaster. My life is such a circus these days. From the laughter to the juggling to the smelly animals and the gasps of horror when you fall and the sighs of relief to feel the net beneath you cushioning your falls.

This year, I want to:
1--Focus on REMEMBERING that when I fall, I will be caught.
2--To discover, seek out and use my spiritual gifts so I can grow more in my upcoming 3rd decade of life.
3--I want to memorize one of my very favorite poems (I will post it on New Year's) and recite it often to my children, so we can begin to learn together internalize and apply more.
4--I want to be a good steward of my blessings.
5--I want to be a wise steward of my body and my spirit.
6--I want to learn to bridle and get rid of my pride in my marriage.
7--I want to play and create more with my children.
8--I want to be a good wife.
9--I want to be a more consistent scripture studier.
10--I want to allow myself time to stop and think before I speak so I can stumble over my words less.

That is it for now. Once my list is complete. I am going to print it and display it on my bedside table and/or fridge to remind me of my desires so that I can REMEMBER what my foci are in the first place.
